PlanetBids Vendor Network (formerly Bid Broadcast)(Article)

The PlanetBids Vendor Network provides extended outreach to Vendors not directly registered with the Agency. Based on the criteria, a separate email will be sent, and if interested, they can register with the Agency to become prospective bidders.

To access the PlanetBids Vendor Network, navigate to Solicitations from the top navigation menu:

 Choose the solicitation you wish to work with. Ensure it is in the Planning or Bidding stage before activating the PlanetBids Vendor Network. If the solicitation is in Draft, you can change the stage while editing:

Click Edit :

Select Send notifications to the PlanetBids Vendor Network:

 Select Categories.  Users must select at least one from the global list of codes. Selecting from any code system available will allow for greater outreach. For example, if you use NAICS codes, you can also choose NIGP or UNSPEC. You may see duplicate code numbers, but the description may be slightly different, so select all that apply: 

Select Save when complete:

Select any other criteria from the list of options, then click Search. Selecting additional criteria will narrow down the outreach results: 


 

PlanetBids will return the number of Vendors registered at other Agencies that meet the criteria selected. Agencies are typically set to 250 additional notifications.

Note: PlanetBids will display the number of maximum Vendors for additional outreach. If PlanetBids finds over the Agency max limit, PlanetBids will randomly select Vendors from the list and notify them of the opportunity when the bid is saved. The outreach max number does not affect the number of Vendors directly registered with the Agency. All Agency Vendors meeting the criteria will be notified.

Click Save:

Click Publish:

In the Summary tab within the solicitation, you can view the vendor notifications and see how many agency vendors were notified and how many vendors were notified :

If you click on the date/time stamp of your “external vendors notified through PlanetBids Vendor Network,” you will see a list of notified vendors (the bid must be in edit mode):
