Bid Results shows the total of all sections, but I am not going to award all sections. How do I manage this?

Bid Results (based on configuration options) displays the pricing submitted. This is your public bid opening and, as such, will display at minimum the total of all items, including option items.

Awards allow you to pick and choose which lines or sections will be awarded, and the award amount will reflect accordingly.
