Importing and Saving a Template
To upload a new document that will be used as a template, select the Document Management icon from the menu to create a document:
Then, click the Create a Document button in the upper right corner of your screen:
From there, you will be asked to provide details about your document. Document Title is a required field:
If you’d like to associate your document with a particular PlanetBids module(s), you can select that option below the document title:
If you associate your document with specific modules, you will be asked to choose more specific information, depending on which modules you associate the document with. Since this will be a template and not related to specific projects, contracts, bids, etc., it is recommended that you proceed without choosing additional specifics:
When you are ready, click Next in the upper right corner to proceed:
You will then be taken to a screen to select how to load your document into the site. To upload a template, click Import under Import a Document. Note: Word Docs are the officially supported document type. PDF support will be available in the future. You also have the option to create your document from scratch by selecting Go under Create a New Document. For this purpose, we are going to import one of our existing document templates:
Select the template you wish to import. Your draft template is then loaded into the system:
Next, you will want to designate this document as a template. To do this, click More and check the box to the left of Save this as a Template:
Your template is now ready for use!
